However, in some cases the color can imply emotions that bring confusion. This is the confusion from our society experiences and in text. In many pieces of literature, the writer uses the color grey. This color grey shows the confusion multiple characters have in their daily travels. As they continue their journey, they learn something new and become who they are. For instance, in the film Unbreakable, you can see the color grey on multiple occasions. Gray is shown as David, the man that survived the train crash that everyone else died, walks away from his hospital room. David discovers his true potential because of his strength. This color adds interest to the readers as they wonder what will happen next. Will they ever make it back? Will he die? Grey is used as a color in all three of these pieces, Unbreakable, Love that Dog and The Odyssey. Grey represents confusion in both The Odyssey and Unbreakable. It represents what they are unknown of as they search for what the answer is. In The Odyssey, Odysseus is searching for a way back home to Ithaca but he is surrounded with confusion as things seem to never go his way. Along with Unbreakable, as David searches for who he is and what his destiny might be. When reading Love that Dog, the young boy is more stable on his beliefs only rather than learning from others. Those consuming this literature will have a thirst to understand what is to come of the confusion stemming from the color grey, adding suspense. Although, sometimes emotions are not set in stone. They can be mixed together, or just overall confused. This comes from not knowing how to handle a situation or just not knowing how you feel. This is from living in the moment, with hope in the future, and having the idea of hope, always. Many pieces of literature incorporate the color blue. This blue shows the emotions of hope the characters scenarios. They have hope for their way back home, to become a new person, and just be who they are. As an example, the film Unbreakable, inquires the color blue. In most scenes you see a small bit of blue. For example, when walking away from the school, his son attends, on the playground you can see blue designs made with chalk. This blue symbolizes the hope there is in each of the scenes. As the movie progresses, you see more and more blue. Thus meaning the hope progresses as well. David starts to find his true potential, to use his strength as an advantage to help all people, not just himself. This hope guides the viewer to feel it as well. You start to see David understanding who he is and accepting it. This hope then brought him to save lives of others and help him forget the past and become a stronger individual. The viewers hope he will discover who he is and maybe use for good, leading there to be more interest overall. However, Unbreakable is not the only piece of literature that uses the color blue. Love that Dog, consists blue as well.
