Marxism was a school of economic thought outlined in karl Marx’s and Friedrich Engels The Communist Manifesto. The book outlined their thoughts for classless, moneyless society. The ultimate end goal for the theories is a utopian society in which the state has complete control over all means of production and operates all industries. These theories were shunned for many years and even got Marx exiled from Germany. Years later Lenin led his band of Bolsheviks to overthrow Tsar Nicholas the second and seized the mean of production. Shortly after the Russian civil war, Lenin realized that a market had to have some part in the economy, therefore signing the New Economic Policy; Lenin saw this as progression towards “state capitalism”.
