How does the connotation of the words in “Nightmare” match the events and mood of this section of the novel? AMC- The connotation matches the events and plot because they are all negative, like the horrible plot and eerie tone. An example of the connotation is in “Dust crept inside my ears…”. Crept is negative connotation. Use the poem “Devoured” to explain how the apple trees are symbolic of Ma. AMC- The trees are symbolic of Ma, because, like the trees, she became injured beyond repair by being burnt so badly.
