The cotton gin was an invention that helped the Industrial Revolution in America take off. It stood as an innovation in technology, or scientific discoveries that can help make work easier. Eli Whitney was born December 8, 1765. He designed and built things as a young man like a violin and nail forge. Eventually, he created something that would kickoff the Industrial Revolution in the United States. This marvelous invention was the cotton gin. This machine would simply speed up the process of picking seeds out from cotton fibers.
