An especially crucial obstacle that can arise while having the same four classes everyday for a full semester is the possible one year gap of a certain subject. For instance, a student can have math first semester of his sophomore year, but may have to wait until the second semester of his junior year to take a more advanced class that will build on what he had previously learned. This long break can lead him to forget certain key concepts. Therefore, his grades may be disrupted, as well as his performance on college admissions tests, such as the SAT.
