The girls were making false accusations that could not be proven. How they did this by crying that witches were in the town and the devil was controlling them to hurt people. The reason the girls cried witchcraft was they wanted people that they didn’t like gone and what better way than to have them hanged. This resulted in the killings of innocent people.
