Lance Armstrong is a cyclist admired by many for his seven consecutive wins of the “Tour de France”. Due to positive test results for doping his titles are taken away and this lead to his fall from fame. His abuse of drugs destroyed his reputation as a top cyclist. Like Lance Armstrong, John Proctor from The Crucible commits a sin that leads to the lost of his reputation. By examining the beginning, middle and end of The Crucible by Arthur Miller one can see John Proctor’s unwillingness to remain passive to a challenge of his dignity and image.
