History would be made by a woman named Sarah Breedlove who would soon be known as Madame CJ Walker. Madame CJ Walker was born Sarah Breedlove or On December 23, 1867. Sarah Breedlove was born to Minerva and Owen Breedlove in Delta, Louisiana and was the youngest girl out of six children. She had one sister and four brothers. Between the age of six and seven Sarah became an orphan because her parents had passed away from yellow fever. With the passing of her parents she would then be forced to move in with her sister Louisianian and brother in law Willie Powell. She wanted blacks to know and feel that they to could have a part of the American dream. She employed thousands of black women throughout the states. By doing this blacks were able to start their own business, build homes for their families, and secure a education for their kids future. In May 25, 1919 Sarah Breedlove Walker (Madam CJ Walker) entered into rest. Madam CJ Walker the child of a former slave made her way through life with hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
