The Crucible Essay
The overall theme of the play, The Crucible, is about lying and deceiving people of the court and the people of Salem, while the main message of the Crucible is about how making accusations and rumors up can sometimes go way farther than they are meant to go. The Crucible play centers around accusations that are made about people throughout the town of Salem, without any real evidence these accusations are believed by the courts and people. Some of the quotes from this piece would go perfectly for this. For example Arthur Miller’s quote “Until an hour before the Devil fell, God thought him beautiful in Heaven” works out well because the people are great people until they get wrongfully accused so much they just fall apart. Another quote that would work well would be Arthur Miller’s quote “You are pulling down heaven and raising up a whore” would work because by accusing good people they are making them question whether they are goo or not and breaking them down. Based on what was read in the Crucible, Arthur Miller would advocate for letting refugees into our country because of how he wanted his readers to portray empathy toward those who were falsely accused of witchcraft. Being falsely accused of witchcraft in the Crucible is similar to banning Syrian refugees from our country because there are musicians they could potentially be terrorists. It would basically be saying that just because they are Syrian doesn’t mean they are necessarily a terrorist. They really get pulled in to a difficult situation simply because of their beliefs. Arthur Miller would not want to limit the entrance of Muslims into our country because, he would think it is very unreasonable to make innocent people not be able to do the things they want to do in
