The Danger of Teen Love In the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet fall madly in love with each, yet they are not able to be together. Romeo and Juliet, both come from different families who are involved in a long-standing feud with one another, but the fact that their families are still in conflict did not stop them from being in love with each other. At the end of the play, the star crossed lovers end up dying tragically due to multiple reasons. The three primary characters or factors accountable for Romeo and Juliet’s tragic death, are Friar Lawrence, the family feud between the Montagues and Capulets, and Romeo and Juliet themselves. The family feud between the Capulets and the Montagues has a major impact towards Romeo and Juliet’s death.The quarrel between the Montagues and the Capulets causes the teenagers to keep their relationship a secret, especially from their parents. They know that revealing their love for each other to their parents will only prevent them from being together forever and increase their chances of not getting married. The reason for this is because they both chose to kill themselves. For instance, before Romeo drinks the poison he says, here’s to my love, and then after drinking, he says that “with a kiss” he “dies”(IV.iii.119-120). This illustrates that Romeo was the one who made such a rash decision, which obviously ends his life. The same can be said for Juliet. Not only did they decide to commit suicide over their love, but they also rushed into a relationship that neither of them were ready for. Their impulsive choice to marry each other makes their love life more complicated than it is which leads to disaster, and later on death. If they truly love each other than, they should know that neither one should kill himself/herself just because one of them is dead, they should continue living their life to the
