In the book “Jailhouse Talk” Ray Hill has a talk show. This is no ordinary talk show. Ray Hill has a talk show about jail and the inmates inside. In this essay I’m going to discuss the interpersonal relationships between him and several others in this story including Jon Buice, Richard “ Cowboy” Cain and Chuck Hurt. First off, Jon Buice is an inmate in the state of Texas that listens to the talk show Ray broadcasts.

Anna Quindlen in the article, “The C Word in the Hallway” argues that mental illness don’t get enough awareness or help that it actually needs. Quindlen supports her argument by using similes, tone and bias’ to state that many teachers are not trained to recognize mental illness and so some just dismiss it and so that leaves “over two thirds of the mentally disturbed children without any help”. Insurance also does not aid in covering the costs because “health insurance plans do not provide coverage for necessary treatment”, or if they do then they think that they should “penalize those who need a psychiatrist instead of an oncologist”. The author's purpose in writing this was to inform people about the scary reality that many kids and teens face today and to argue that it is nothing to joke about and that it needs to be taken seriously.
Pet Peeves After descending into Pet Peeve Hell with my good friend and well trusted mentor Sheb, who agreed to guide me, we traversed the land until stumbling upon the gates of hell. I am intrigued by your essay “The C Word in the Hallways.” Mental illness, especially in teens, is an important topic to discuss; even now, 15 years after your essay was published. This country has grieved more than its fair share of mass homicide-suicides that have been blamed on mental illness. My own high school has seen one suicide and two more attempted suicides just this year. I agree with your claim that we write mental illness off as unimportant, and what stood out to me most about your argument is how your word choice and the tone of your essay effectively demonstrates how adults dismiss mental illness in teens as a phase of bad behavior.

The study would ultimately prove that everyone, no matter the color of their skin, is equal when it comes to the disease of syphilis. The intention behind manipulating the men was not for the greater good of society, but instead was for the greater good of Dr. Brodus and Miss Evers. Although the actions of Dr. Brodus and Miss Evers prove to be unethical, I also find the actions to be unprofessional. Miss Evers should have informed the men of the severity of the disease, as well as how the disease is passed from one individual to another. They failed to inform their patients of many of the risks that came along with the disease.
‘Twelve Angry Men’ written by Reginald Rose, is based on the story of a jury who have to come together to determine the fate of a young boy accused to have murdered his own father. Initially, eleven of the jurors vote not guilty with one of the juror being uncertain of the evidence put before them. As the men argue over the different pieces of evidence, the insanity begins to make sense and the decision becomes clearer as they vote several other times. Rose creates drama and tension in the jury room, clearly exploring through the many issues of prejudice, integrity and compassion, in gaining true justice towards the accused victim. These aspects have been revealed through three character who are Juror 10, Juror 8 and Juror 3.
The Breakfast Club is not in fact a movie about bacon 'n eggs. It’s a coming of age film about five coincidentally different teenagers all linked together by one common element, Saturday detention. At first, they are all close-minded and judgmental of each other until coming to realize they may be from different circles of friends but are not so different in the end. This film is still remarkably relatable to this day. Everyone in this film is in his or her own societal bubbles, but come to understand they are all facing the same problems.
