Nicole Richie once said, “An eating disorder is serious and it’s a disease and I don’t think you can lightly say that someone has a disease unless they’re openly telling you that they do.”
Social media has a large effect on how someone feels or sees themselves in society.

Falsified media could possibly be a reason for some of people’s eating disorders. Social media has its ups, but it also has its downfalls. Downfalls being; Suicide, eating disorders, cyberbullying, and harassment. Anyone, could go on for days.There are ups to social media, like for example, viewing friend’s pictures that no one no longer sees, or communicating back and forth (Jung, ).

Medications, therapy, and nutrition play a huge role on how eating disorders take place. Medications can change a person’s mood or anxiety symptoms, therapy being with family, group, or just by yourself and explaining the way it makes someone feel, and nutrition being someone ahead of time figuring out their meal plan just for 2-3 days a week. Either way medications needs to be made to make this stop. Therapy needs to help someone get out of their shell and explain why they feel the way they do and why they are doing this to themselves. And nutrition is what people should want.Anyone with Anorexia has a 35% to 85% recovery rate. With all the medications out there and rehab people have a better chance of making it all the way, and coming out clean. Large amounts of food take in on a daily basis, and in short amounts of time. About 80% of people suffer from large amounts of food. Constantly needing commodity to snack on makes them feel safe and secure. (in text citation) Most people that suffer from anxiety or depression tend to be this way. Sometimes it’s in your genes and hard to fight away. Most people think because you’re dieting and working out that you’re still losing weight, but it is actually known for people that have it in their genes that they are gaining. Dying because of being overweight or obese has raised dramatically over the years. For the people who are obese or overweight it has been known for them both to be the 5th leading risks of death in the global.
