The English’s attempts during the French and Indian War while under the leadership of General Edward Braddock was failing. Within three years, two-thirds of English troops were dead. Loss after loss the English became concerned with the events that was leading to their failure. In 1758, a large army led by Jeffrey Amherst took command of the military operations regarding the French and Indian War. A year into his leadership, the English were beginning prevail against their enemies. The Treaty of Paris of 1763 would end the French and Indian War of the three warring nations of Spain, England, and France.
