The Age of Enlightenment was a time period in the western europe with the developing aspects of a new cultural life. The Enlightenment was not just a scientific revolution but also a new era of revolution for humankind. People who were being Enlightened by the new culture focused on improving human quality life. People were becoming more educated from reading pieces of literature, journals and gathering in various community settings to discuss opinions. The Enlightenment was the period for a new ideas in bringing changes to the traditional social hierarchy system. Perhaps, reformers targeting on the king to help implement an absolute system not absolutism. One famous piece of literature which was written by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, the “Social Contract”, proposed the crisis of the French society. From the text of “It laid the theoretical foundation for democracy, proposing that human beings left to their own are basically good and that government should be based on contract with the governed.” Government should implement liberty and equality for all human beings and should only serve its purpose: to protect the people. Humans should not be repressed but rather learn to be self disciplined. Humans are born with natural rights and cannot be seized from society. The Social Contract became the international conversation, which mocked the government corruptness in different parts of the world. Rousseau “ offered European a radical alternative:the search for democratic transparency for the soul to soul, fraternity made possible only by liberty and equality.” This demonstrates Rousseau definition in the stage of democracy for the people. He is proposing an idea to the society that we can implement a democracy for a better government system. People should be exposed to the government nature of its job and to seek for any interruption in citizens
