The Ethical Implications in Braden Morris’s Case Braden Morris is a seven-year-old male at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and has suffered from an autoimmune disease known as severe combined immune deficiency for his whole life. In effect, he is extremely prone to infections. Since he is too young to be able to make medical decisions for himself, his parents control any judgments related to his condition. While Braden is under the care of Dr. Bailey, she recommends that he undergo a new gene therapy involving an injection of the deactivated human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
