The main character's journey aligns with the archetypal hero's journey in my book because they are the same character. Momma in the book resembles mother archetype character. Because of Mommas kind heartedness she has become the mother figure to a few relatives and also helped others in need no matter the skin colour. For example in the book, Momma when talking to a white dentist she says, "'When you come to borrow my money you didn't have to beg. You asked me, and I lent it."' (267)
When watching movies or reading books, you may notice a pattern or similarity in the stories. This is called an archetype. The hero’s journey is one example. Authors have different ways of expressing their thoughts in their hero’s journey. The Hobbit is about the journey of Bilbo Baggins and 13 dwarves who journey to get their treasure back.
Beowulf exemplifies the concept of good and evil. It includes the archetypical hero who battles multiple monsters and faces struggles along the way. Even though Beowulf is thousands of years old, the theme of good vs evil is still seen in modern literature, on television, and in many other places. Good vs evil is seen in many places in the present time period, especially in superhero comics and movies.

I challenge you to listen to both sides of the story before you make your judgment. It was mid-day when Atticus Finch was faced with the decision while talking to the convicted Tom Robinson accused of rape sitting innocent of this heinous crime. Now there is a common agreement that Tom is in need of Atticus' trust the conflict comes with the question whether Atticus should trust Tom. Some including myself firmly believe that Atticus should trust Tom where as others say Atticus should not trust Tom.

Another example would be on pg. 39 in the article “About Beowulf”, he was described as a young warrior of great strength and courage” fighting off Grendel, a “bloodthirsty foe”. This representation gives a vivid characterization of Beowulf which also is a common stereotype in other heroes in modern films such Batman, Spiderman, Superman etc.… In addition, they are usually described as strong and full of courage (Simon, par 2-10, Giles par 2). Also this representation shows how the hero in medieval romantic literature takes on an enormous challenge just to help other people which is also a common stereotype of heroes in modern film because they take it upon themselves to save the world.
“These heroic archetypes pop up all over Western Lit. They are: Stereotypical/Classical Heroes, Everyday/Everyman Heroes, and Anti/Un Heroes” (Bunting). Each type of hero is used for certain reasons; not all stories use the anti-hero and the classic hero is not always the way to go. There are many reasons why an author would choose to use a certain type hero in their work.
Another example being portrayed by Demeter; even when there happens to no hope for her daughter Persephone, she never gives up on Persephone, or on the role of neutering her daughter through the tough times. The Mother Archetype shows through Greek Mythology which includes The Iliad, Edith Hamilton, and The Odyssey. In literature, an archetype can usually interpret as a normal, your everyday typical character. An archetype, also frequently identified as universal symbol.
In days of earths past, in distant yet not forgotten cultures, Heroes and villains were rather self explanatory. The hero was a valiant, brave, courageous man (usually) who might have been of noble blood that would help others and go on a long epic quest to defeat the villain. The villain at this point in time was simply an outcaste monster, who lived on the fringes of society, feeding on the passing by traveler or merchant and once in a while having virgin women sacrificed to them by a cult. The line between the two is a bit blurred in this generation, despite the very obvious differences before. It seems as if almost anybody could be the hero or villain, as characters are more rounded out as of now and not just simply archetypes all the time,
An archetype is a pattern of behavior that can help us understand ourselves and others. To have a greater understanding of myself, I recognized the person archetype of a student within myself and the archetype of a journey throughout my four years in high school. These archetypes helped me throughout high school and helped me gain knowledge that I can apply throughout my life. My first archetype is one that many people experience within their life, a student. Everyone in their life has learned something either by learning from others or from themselves (Archetypes, Intellectual archetypes).
Very little is known about the epic poem Beowulf besides that the story was told during the Anglo-Saxon period, specifically between the years 500-1100. The author is unknown, due to the fact that the story was originally told verbally and not documented until much later. Like many stories told throughout the ages, Beowulf consists of many archetypes. An archetype is a recurring symbol found in literature, such as the Hero archetype. In this epic poem, the hero, Beowulf, travels from his homeland to Denmark to save a kingdom from an awful beast that has been attacking men late at night for over twelve years.
The Evil Queen This is my story. Everyone just assumes that I tried to kill Snow White because of envy and jealous well I was both of there but the not why I tried to kill her. I never really wanted to hurt anyone, that was never my intention until she made it so difficult
