The family feud between the Capulets and the Montagues did not allow Romeo and Juliet to be together because whenever Romeo was around the Capulets they tried to shank him with rapiers, bucklers, daggers, and other pointy stuff. As a result of the feud there are also random fights that spring up whenever members and servants of opposing households come into contact. Because of this feud and the fights they caused Tybalt killed Mercutio and in turn, Romeo killed Tybalt.
A feud between the Montague and Capulet families caused random fights and deaths of many of their servants and relatives. In the first scene of act one, a fight between servants of both houses is started because a servant from the Capulet household
