The Genius of Serial killers Dennis Nilson stated “a mind can be evil without being abnormal”. We can also say that the minds of serial killers hold genius inside them. Although many will not acknowledge this, it may be true! Jack the Ripper, the Zodiac Killer, and the Axeman were some of the greatest, most complex, and most ingenious serial killers known worldwide. The self-proclaimed Zodiac Killer is considered the most organized and most complex serial killer known. First of all, he is responsible for at least five murders in the San Francisco Bay area. He was also known for taunting the police through letters sent to the area newspaper. On August 1, 1969, the San Francisco Examiner, San Francisco Chronicle and Vallejo Times-Herald each got an indistinguishable hand written letter in an envelope without an arrival address. He was also known for taunting the police by sending messages through the radio claiming to spare people in homes where jazz was playing. The editor of the New Orleans Times-Picayune received a peculiar letter which would attack significantly more profound parallels to the prior Jack the Ripper murders. In the letter, which was published in all the local New Orleans newspapers, the Axeman said that he would kill again at 15 minutes past midnight on the night of March 19, yet would save anyone who had jazz music playing. The letter, dated March 13, 1919 with the words “Hell” composed at the highest point of the page. No one was murdered that night. Why was he called the Axeman? First, we must understand that he was a fan of jazz, and was also rumored
