(1) The book I am reading is called “The girl who wasn't there” by Penny Joelson. This book is a very interesting book that requires a lot of attention. When I started reading this book I was immediately drawn to read more. In the beginning of this book it is talking about how this girl “Kasia Novack” is sitting in her room and sees a woman get dragged into a car. She is very sick. She has what is called ME- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Basically an illness that causes you to get very weak and exhausted by doing anything like standing up, lifting an arm, Anything. So when she sees this all go down she reaches for her phone, She is screaming her moms name, but her mom is watching TV and she is not loud because of her illness. She grabs her phone and she dials 911, She gives her name, her address what she saw and the address it had happened at. …show more content…

Number 48 is the house across the street where this woman gets dragged into a car. The police are called but they start investigating. They start asking people around the neighborhood questions such as, Have you seen anything suspicious from the house across the street? (Number 48) All of the people that have been questioned have not seen anything. At the time of the incident nobody was home….. But Kasia saw something that nobody else could. Kasia sees a girl, a skinny girl, narrow face, smaller. She sees this girl as the girl slightly moves the curtains and then quickly shuts them. As if she were hiding. She later on tells her mom about the whole incident with the police and what she saw. To where she saw the girl, kidnapping everything. As the police tell her and her mom that nobody has been reported missing, there is nothing they can do. Kasia starts to doubt herself. She is telling herself that maybe it was just her imagination. Maybe she did not see anything. Until she sees the girl in the window
