People don’t chose what they want to do or they lives. Everything is already planned by the elders that chose everything and can eliminate certain things. The elders fail at making at making a utopia because they ejected things that they thought they were bad for the community, such as eliminating individuality of people and having a lack of choice in choosing their careers. All the members from the community don’t choose their assignment because when your little the elders observe you and start seeing what you are really good at. They make this because they are afraid that the members might make a mistake at their assignment that could lead to a catastrophe in the community.
