CHAPTER THREE SYNOPSIS 5-9 After a date night with Jordan, Nick comes home, he is very nervous that his house might be on fire as the surroundings seemed to be very bright and surprised to see Gatsby’s mansion lit up brightly in the middle of the night but seems to be unoccupied unlike the every night glow of the place. As Nick walks home, he was approached by Gatsby, shares thoughts about his day and even invites him in his place, as Gatsby talks he seems to be very agitated. Nick then knew that Jay’s act is his way of asking him if what his decision regarding his plan of inviting Daisy over for a tea. Then, as Nick feels Jay’s willingness and eagerness to see Daisy, he then said yes and will help him with the plan. As Jay’s way of saying and showing his gratitude, he offered Nick to join him in one of his job. But this act of him quiet offended Nick is slightly offended that Gatsby wants to pay him for arranging the meeting wit, thinking that he is just after Jay’s money. The rain pours heavily, Gatsby loses hope to see Daisy. He watches the clock ticks and seems to be very agitated and nervous. As he waits for Daisy, he considers and worries that even Daisy shows up he can never fix their past. Not even longer, Daisy arrives, but the proud Mr. Gatsby seemed to be missing in action and let his fear eats him alive. Daisy was so fascinated about how beautiful Nick’s place is and how he prepared for her arrival, little did she knew it was all made for her. Few minutes passed as Daisy rooms around Nick’s place, there’s a knock on the door, Gatsby was so pale and standing at the front door in a puddle of water as he dramatically walks and run away in
