The play's themes center around love, hate, society, and the tragedy of fate. Similarly, “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald also deals with love, society, and the tragedy of fate. Both texts have significant literary merit and supply insight into life and society. In this essay, I will compare the characters, plot, and themes of both texts. Romeo and Juliet and “The Great Gatsby” have different main characters. Romeo and Juliet are lovers who fall in love at first sight, while Jay Gatsby is a mysterious, wealthy man who is in love with a woman from his past named Daisy.
