The Hero’s Journey is found in many places. The Hero’s Journey is a story structure that is found everywhere, in books, in movies, and in life. For instance, the Hero’s Journey is also found in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. A stage in the Hero’s Journey connects to when Harry Potter meets Hagrid, Meeting the Mentor. In Chapter 4, there is a moment when Harry hears a loud banging on the door. Then, the door breaks and he meets Hagrid. This event is the scene that connects to the stage of Meeting the Mentor because this is where Harry meets Hagrid for the first time. This proves that this scene represents the stage of Meeting the Mentor in Harry Potter because Hagrid is the mentor and gives the call to adventure. Harry Potter can be connected to many stages of the Hero’s Journey. Additionally, the Hero’s Journey is found in many other places, not just in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, but in other novels as well. Another novel that shows the Hero’s Journey is Into the Wild. Into the Wild also includes many stages of the Hero’s Journey. One stage it includes is the Call to Adventure. This stage means that the protagonist becomes aware of the problem and it shows that there will be a problem or event occurring in the protagonist's life and disrupting their original life. It marks the start of the story and adventure. In the beginning, the protagonist, Rusty, has many dreams of the forest. Rusty is a house cat that lives near a forest with four clans of cats in it. This eventually leads to him venturing into the forest and encountering the clan cats. This part connects to Call to Adventure because this is where the story begins and he meets the clan cats, who eventually invite him to join them. This connects to the stage
