Human Rights or Lack Thereof

During the late 1930s and early 1940s the German government allowed a mad man named Adolf Hitler to lead an event that would illegally kill 6 million people and take away even more peoples human rights. The history of the Holocaust was helped. “with the aid of social Darwinist and pseudo biological arguments, anti-semites began to view Jews as a distinct “race”, that not even baptism could change.” What this means is that anti-semites view Jews as almost animalistic. The human rights that were violated by the Holocaust were all of the known human rights, but the one that stood out the most was number 9, “No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention, or exile.” Or in simpler terms,no one can be arrested …show more content…

Often the Nazis would use whips and truncheons, which are metal or wooden batons that are used to beat people, when the Jews were getting out of the cattle cars and the Nazis wanted to rush them. Also much of the time the Nazis would beat the Jews with them for all types of things like not moving fast enough, not following orders exactly and for not working. They would beat the Jews into submission, causing the Jews to break under the pressure. This gives the Nazis the excuse to shoot them. The Nazis told the Jews they had two choices to decide their fate they either work or they would be thrown into the furnaces or simply just thrown into the furnaces. In the quote “here you have to work, if not you will go straight to the furnace” (Wiesel).This is explaining the choice the Jews were given. It was either work or die- that is the choice they were given.They were treated so poorly that many of the Jews would run towards the electric fences surrounding the camp and they would just commit suicide rather than being forced to work, because if they didn’t work they were simply taken to the furnace.this was found on the history …show more content…

In this era of human rights preventing another Holocaust is the top priority for human rights activist. The Holocaust was such an atrocity that cannot afford to go through it again. It took million of people’s human rights away because one man said to do so. Hitler blamed it on a certain group of people “she called political will of member nations “often the most scarce commodity” needed to backup peacekeeping and special missions to identify and respond to violence that can evolve into atrocities.” the world doesn’t know what it needs to prevent another Holocaust because it’s very hard to find members of the U.N to help prevent more atrocities like the Holocaust. How are going to go on knowing the world doesn’t have what it needs to prevent another Holocaust, the U.N needs to get together to know what to do to prevent another atrocity like the Holocaust otherwise it could happen
