Purity is an idea derived from the Christian religion that has been used multiple times throughout the bible. The idea of purity is one that is up to opinion. Many see the term purity as being an adjective describing one who lacks knowledge about oneself. Others who are faithful in the Christian religion may define this term as one who has a freedom from adulteration or contamination. Purity is first mentioned in the bible in the story Adam and Eve. The story goes that God warns the people of the garden that they must not eat fruit from the tree of knowledge. Eve later persuaded by a serpent decides to take a bite out of the knowledgeable fruit. Later she shares the fruit with Adam filling both Adam and Eve with remorse and shame. God hears of their disobedience and curses both Adam and Eve since the fruit had made both of them impure. These ideas are taught through church or sex education in schools around the nation. Teenagers are warned of the consequences that may result if one becomes impure or had sinned. For religious teenagers, this is seen as a sin and can result in spending the afterlife in Hell. The other population of teenagers is warned against participating in impure activities since it may result in pregnancy or contraction of diseases. Purity is an idea, referred often to in the Bible, which describes someone free from contamination of adulteration and premarital sexual activity.
