In Farewell to Manzanar, Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston shares her experience of being forcibly relocated to an internment camp during World War II as a result of Executive Order 9066 and the Alien Enemies Act. In the first 10 chapters of the book, Jeanne describes the fear and confusion that she and her family felt as they were forced to leave their home and belongings behind. One quote from the book that relates to the Alien Enemies Act comes from the first chapter, where Jeanne describes her father's reaction to the news of the Pearl Harbor attack: "I watched Papa's face turn dark with fear, and then with anger. What McCandless Has Shown Me Chris McCandless was just a normal college graduate just like any other person but then he decided to go into the wild and go travel to all different areas before he went to Alaska. Chris decided to go to Alaska because in his head that’s where he thought there would be no one from society telling him what to do. He thought he wouldn’t have to follow the rules of society or people telling him what to do. He reached Alaska, but the reality of Alaska was different that the romanticized expectation that he had in his mind. He didn’t bring enough food for himself and all he relied on was eating plants and berries from the wild.
In “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, Slim is a helpful, trustworthy man who plays an important role. For example, when Lennie and George first meet Slim, Slim is introduced with, “His authority was so great that his word was taken for any subject, be it politics or love”(33). According to this quote, Slim is considered a great advice giver and is very good at solving problems. The quote also shows how smart Slim is being able to solve a problem for any topic.
Title Sherman Alexie grew up on a Spokane Reservation. He was born October 7th, 1996. Which then makes him 50 years old. He had a high risk of mental disorders, luckily it went good and he suffered no damage. Sherman Alexie promoted the understanding of the struggle of an Indian through the books Indian Killer, Reservation Blues and The Toughest Indian In The World.
Reflected successfully in Robert Newton’s novel Runner were the hardship, joy, and ordinary people making the most of life in 1919. With Charlie Feehan experiencing theses obstacles everyday: When Mr Peacock hurt Ma, everybody lived close together, and when Charlie works for Squizzy Taylor against his mother’s will to provide for the family. Ma’s encounter with Mr Peacock was one of the many hardships faced in 1919. This represents the hardships of women back then.

I would have to say that Harriet would remember this quote every time she would travel via the Underground Railroad to save slaves.

Tom Robinson is an african-american man who needs protection because he lives in Maycomb, Alabama and white people think that he is lesser than they are and that all african-americans lie. Arthur Radley or Boo is a recluse and a hermit. He need to be defended because he is not social, he stays inside his house all day and is made fun of by everyone in Maycomb. Scout Finch is the daughter of Atticus and is a young child.

Along with remembering the quote, we should remember the person who wrote this saying, Theodor Seuss Geisel. We should remember who Theodor Geisel was and why he was so successful. By remembering people we keep their story alive.
If you were trying to raise a family with very little money, would you be able to provide and care for your children? Well in the story “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls this scenario is happening throughout the entire story. The father Rex Walls grew up in bad conditions and did not want his own children to deal with the things he had to go through. Although Rex Walls is still poor, He still tries his hardest to be a good parent and provide for his family and give them some of the things he never had growing up. Throughout the book we learn alot from Mr Walls that we could incorporate in our own lives.
Faust has certainly learned that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. He erroneously believed that the Devil would give him access to knowledge, which so far had been denied. Tom Robinson is a mockingbird in that he doesn't do one thing wrong. All he does is provide help to the people he interacts with. That is exactly how he got in trouble. Tom Robinson was helping Mayella with some chores. He was humming a melody and when he chopped up the dresser drawers.
Ray Bradbury’s 1950 dystopian novel, The Rocket is a short science fiction classic based on a man who fantasizes of travelling to space. This futuristic tale communicates, how anyone is authorized to travel to space without any prior experience and preparation on how to operate and navigate a rocket. The story of the The Rocket, is based during a more advanced time in the future as anyone at that time is able to fly to space as long as they have money to support their trip, the protagonist is a father, named Fiorello who wants to bring his family to space, but to do that he must save a lot of money as the trips are far too expensive, nobody believes that he will be able to accomplish this task and even when people are that it’s impossible

In the novel The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, words are expressed to change the minds of Hitler’s followers to believe his every word. Words are also used against German citizens if they do not conform to the societal expectations. On the other hand, Liesel has a lust for words and she wishes to use them to positively impact others.
