Many of us think that when we are good, good things should happen to us and that bad things must happen to those who are bad. How should we live? It is one of the existential dilemmas that the human being has. Which is better, be good or be bad? To answer this question we must understand what it is to be a good person. According to our current society, a good person is someone who treats others well, who is kind, humble and loyal. Someone who is incapable of hurting anyone. Being good or bad is something that depends on the way each person interprets the meaning of evil and good. At the end, the important thing is that your choice is based on what you consider is ethical and what you think is correct. But the ancient philosophers had another definition. In the book, The Republic, Platon talks about justice, order and the character of the just. When Socrates asks them, what is Justice? he wants to convince himself that justice is good and beneficial for society. It is something that would help man to be happy. The object is the action that we are going to carry out, in this case our object is to kill. The circumstances are related to the person involved, the time, the place and the occasion; in this case our circumstance is to look for the moment to kill Hitler. Finally we have the intention. The intention is the reason or purpose by which we carry out our action, in our case our intention is to prevent the death of millions of people by killing a baby. If one of these three factors is considered bad, then the act should be considered as bad and should be avoided. When analyzing our three factors, taking as an example of killing Hitler, we find that the three factors are considered bad; therefore the act of killing Hitler for the purpose of preventing that when he grows up killing millions of people, should be avoided and is not considered a morally
