Kira Bender Mrs. Dafoe APEL: Period 4 15 September 2014 Bradstreet Rhetorical Précis In her poem, “Upon the Burning of Our House (1666),” Anne Bradstreet, the first female writer in the British North American colonies to be published, employs the capitalization of specific words and a shift in point of view in order to inform us of a situation in which her devotion to God was challenged and yet consequentially strengthened. Bradstreet opens her poem with the burning down of her home and the amount of fear it caused her. She then gives thanks to God, since she believes all things are his and he has the right to take what he wants.
In the article “the black community already has enough basketball players” Earvin Magic, is talks about how important is to attend to college. The author tells us that basketball players should focus on their career like lawyers, doctor, and teachers. It is important because basketball is considered as a wealthy sport. The NBA mission statement is “we compete with intensity, lead with integrity and inspire play” (Msa, 2021). They are critical when it comes to their integrity. Things such as being honest, ethical, and fair speak to what the NBA stands for. Lead by example. The values of respect.
For many years the National Basketball Association (NBA) has used the one-and-done rule for players attempting to enter the draft as early as possible. This rule requires players wishing to enter the annual draft to be at least one year removed from high school. Each season a small group of these high school players separate themselves from the rest of their class, they are the few that are big enough, athletic enough, and skilled enough to jump directly to the NBA. Though these elite players may have matured physically at an early age it takes more time for their personalities to catch up. In today’s game we’re seeing more and more guys being both mentally and physically capable of entering the NBA, but there a large majority of players that

For as long as I can remember, my one dream has been to play major league baseball. Even though I know how much work it takes to make this happen, I wouldn’t regret it for a second. I love watching basketball, and I 've always wanted to play it. In middle school though my sports were Cross Country and Track, so I have basically zero experience with any kind of team sports (the only exception would be the stuff in PE). I actually went to the state championship in the 100m in middle School so I am a fairly athletic guy (about 10 pounds heavier now though). Guys at my schools play pickup basketball once a week during free time in gym and I 've been trying to join in, but I just have absolutely no idea what I should be doing while on offense. I actually am a decent rebounder and usually score a few points a game from offensive rebounds.

My future goal is to be a Diagnostic Sonography Technician. The aspiration I have is to make my parents proud. I will be the first child in my home to graduate from high school and go to college and continue studying. Not only would I be making my parents proud, but going to college always guarantees you have a better job, with a better pay this means I would be able to help my parents out with a lot more than just a bill. When my parents are to be an old age my goal is for them not to have to worry about expenses, because I would be covering it.
