What would you do if you want to convey an idea in your mind? What would you do if you want to share messages with friends or family members? What would you do if you want to express your current feeling and emotion? Over the past decades, communication is an essential ongoing process in social life. The word, “communication” has been highlighted in Western countries such as English, French and Scottish during seventeenth and eighteenth centuries (Simonson, Peck, Craig & Jackson, 2013). It can be either in written or spoken form. In contrast, nonverbal communication is a method of communication by using body languages such as gesture, posture, facial expression, voice, eye contact and so on. It is a form of expression through study of one’s behavior and act.
As a saying goes, “action speaks louder than word”. In fact, as highlighted by Burgoon and Bacue (2003), nonverbal cues were estimated transfers 60 percent of the social meanings in daily communication. Are different from verbal, nonverbal communication is given the priority because nonverbal cues are usually unaware and free from manipulate (Burgoon & Guerrero, 1994; Verderber, Verderber & Sellnow, 2009).
