Throughout the United States, the amount of homeless people is gradually increasing as the years go by. Roughly, a half million people are living on the streets, in cars, homeless shelters, or in transitional housing. Many people who are homeless lack one important thing: a job with a steady income. There are numerous arguments as to why these people do not obtain these jobs, reasons such as not having an address for applications or not being able to look presentable to the public on duty. For whatever the reason may be, these people need an immense amount of guidance and support available from their community that surrounds them. Many comprehensive services are provided to increase the adult’s education levels in order to prepare them for a new living. A variety of education atmospheres are provided to accommodate any person’s needs, one example being individual or group computer-based learning areas and classroom-based environments, where there is a fit for everyone. This education is crucial in order to allow adults to feel empowered financially. With the education, comes a job training program, which is provided to residents who experience barriers to employment. Additionally, a reentry program is available to target students with past criminal history, who are a part of the Career Center. The Career Center offers skilled employment coaches and employer partners for educational assistance in order for adults to earn jobs to support their families. With all of this help at each individual’s fingertips, finding a steady job now becomes quite simpler. The question that constantly surrounds a homeless person before they reach this point in time, though, is “why can you not find a job?” There are many explanations for this frequently asked question, but the main explanation is that there is not enough jobs in this country for everyone, “The economy has shed about 1.3 million more jobs. Through this organization, they have been able to join at one of their lowest points in life, and come out stronger than ever before. The alumni continue to prosper and grow from the inside and out due to the guidance they were provided previously. Finding a new identity can be challenging. It may only take a few hours for some, but for others it can take a couple of years! Whenever a person discovers their true identity, they become a distinct version of themselves. Our House’s mission is to allow one to find their true self through change. As long as that person accepts the change, then they will be able to see their new self developing. Finding one’s identity is like walking a never ending tunnel of darkness. A person will continue on the journey, but can also give up and turn around. If the person decides to persevere through all of the hardships, they will be able to find the light at the end of the tunnel and they will never want to stop
