What would you do if you can invent anything that could come right out of your imagination? Would you do it? In these articles and novels, that's what many of the people tried to conquer, but as a result it had many consequences. In the novel Frankenstein, it is about a scientist named Victor Frankenstein who is eager to learn new ideas and thinking from his professors. Victor Frankenstein is the main character is introduced by an explorer named Robert Walton who has similar personalities as Victor. Victor Frankenstein then creates a monster that destroys everything he has starting from his youngest child William to his beloved wife Elizabeth. Also, that the pursuit of knowledge can affect mankind by showing some knowledge brings many fatal and other long term consequences, but some knowledge can produce new pathways into the future. First, some fatal and long term consequences of knowledge affecting mankind is shown through the novel Frankenstein and The Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury. Victor declares that, “ I was bewildered, in a cloud of wonder and horror. The death of William, the execution of Justine, the murder of Clerval, and lastly my wife; even at that moment I knew not that my only remaining friends were safe from the malignity of the fiend; my father even might be writhing under his grasp, and Ernest might be dead before his feet. This idea made me shudder and recalled me to action” (Shelly 205). This shows that Victor is devastated after the creature took away his last person he loves, trusts, and spends time the most with. Also, this conveys the dangers of knowledge because it can affect the morale of the person and endanger the family and friends of the inventor.
