Amber Thomas May 27, 2016 Thesis Statement and Topic sentence Proposal Mrs.Love/1st hour No one should be forced to take on a huge responsibility if they do not want to. I do not believe the United States should pick young people every year to serve in the military services. If you send a person to do something they don’t want to do most likely it won’t be their best effort. The person would not have any experience, miss out on their childhood, and can be scarred for the rest of their lives. Sending someone to military services forcingly and so young would not be a good thing to do in the United States. If every two years a young person goes into military services, when they come back it won’t be the same. In the military you are committing to see things no others may never see in life. Fear would be upon them at a young age and can affect their daily lives when they return. Two years without doing everyday things teens do could make them feel out of place or even isolated from the world when they return. without them having a decision would be going against our free will we are supposed to have here. Also, everyone is not fit for military duties and that could not only put the young person at risk but the country as well. Most of the young people would lack certain skills some people in the military are trained and were willing to learn to protect the country. The responsibilities that come with military services could be very challenging for someone who has never had to pick up a weapon to kill anyone. To take someone’s life at a young age to protect the country could cause so much damage physically and mentally to a teen. Like I said before everyone is not fit to do those kinds of things, so why should they be forced and there are plenty of fish in the sea who would loved to do military
