Sexual harassment is commonly found in the workplace; however, it can be seen and almost every social environment. Sexual harassment is the unwanted and unwarranted sexual attention from another person. Typically seen in the workplace, sexual harassment creates an environment that is hostile and unsafe. This paper will examine three article that will cover the current understanding of the ethics behind sexual harassment, current laws in place to help protect against sexual harassment, and examine gender bias in regards to sexual harassment.

The authors of this article share the same definition of sexual harassment as APA ethical standards. The findings of the article biased in favor of women, particularly female students. The study concluded that sexual harassment has a malicious impact on female students during their collegiate years and was found to be associated with several psychodemogrphic factors (Thakur & Paul, 2017). This article also addressed the concern that many intuitions do not have adequate policies and grievance procedures in place to help the victims of sexual harassment (Thakur & Paul, 2017). This article discusses mediation as an informal resolution and alternative to legal litigation. Donlon (2017) indicates that if the company’s attempts to avoid Title VII claims of sexual harassment fail then the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) may step in to offer an alternative to legal litigation. Mediation versus legal litigation is not to see who will win the case, but rather how can both parties come to an agreement of what should be done to resolve and prevent future instances (Donlon, 2017). The article made a few good points, one being, mediation can save both time, money, and revictimization (Donlon,2017). Mediation can save time as it does not have to go through courts, it saves money, no legal fees involved, and the victim of sexual harassment does not have to go through court proceeding which typically victimizes them again to prove the character of a person (Donlon,
