Isabel Lim 2015/12/7 G block Solar Energy should be our main source of electricity “Because we are now running out of gas and oil, we must prepare quickly for a third change, to strict conservation and to the use of coal and permanent renewable energy sources, like solar power.” stated Jimmy Carter the 39th president of United States. (Jimmy Carter, televised speech, April 18, 1977) Unlike solar energy, gas and oil resources are limited and even now we are running out of. As I stated, it is limited. When the gas and oil is all gone, we need other source of energy to keep developing that is sustainable and renewable for long lasting energy. Of course the solar energy have some disadvantages too, but it contains quite of advantages also or few more. Solar energy is sustainable sources as long as sun exists, it is renewable, it does not pollute environment and nature, and it has low maintenance. So sun energy should become our main source of producing electricity. Solar energy works with solar panels. Solar panels are made of photovoltaic cells, what convert sunlight into direct current electricity throughout the day. And that energy moves to inverter, this device converts the direct current electricity what generated by the solar panels into the alternating current electricity. After generated, the energy goes to electrical panel. The electrical panels is also called as breaker box. The alternating current electricity is sent to electrical panel to power our lights and
