Imagine trying to learn if you cannot hear what the teacher is saying. School is hard, but when you can 't hear it 's probably even harder. One might think that nobody can learn like that. When you cannot hear anything. you are probably thinking you can 't learn like that. Well, kids that can 't hear need to learn too. That 's why schools for the deaf opened. Just because someone has a disability, doesn 't mean they should be denied the opportunity to learn the same as everyone else. Saint Joseph 's institute, South Carolina school, Scranton State and Saint Rita school are all schools for people who are deaf or hard of hearing kids. There are around 105 schools for the deaf in the United States alone. The place with the most is New York, with five schools for the deaf. There are many steps to becoming someone who can work at these schools. In order to teach, the teacher must have taken linguistics, anatomy, child development, cognitive psychology, and research methods, as well completing a special practicum and student teaching assignments to even be considered to be hired. There are 70 colleges that offer a major in teacher the deaf. To teach at these special schools, you have to have extra education and the patience to work with kids that can 't hear. Schools for the deaf are very important and the work they do is truly inspiring. There are many challenges of being deaf, but school should not be one. School is a necessity and the amazing work the teachers do, the hard work the students do, and the extreme measures people take to make these schools helpful for kids that need it are incredible.
