In March 1941, United States President Franklin Roosevelt passed the lend-lease bill. This “removed the dollar sign” and modified the American Neutrality Laws. Roosevelt agreed to lend or lease United States supplies if after the war, we get the munitions back. However, this bill was greatly debated among Americans. A few months later, Hitler attacked the USSR.
For years no one person or group controlled regulatory agencies that were until with President Theodore Roosevelt started to try to hold them accountable. This was fought with a lot of resistance by Congress. President Theodore Roosevelt was followed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and President Herbert Hoover, however, this was also meet with resistance. Congress always shot down their attempts to set regulation. This was due largely to the facts the regulatory agencies were part of the executive branches of government (Bethel, 2017).
President Roosevelt is also known as FDR was set forth in action as soon as he got in office. He started with the banks making a four-day bank holiday. There were four divisions of the New Deal. During the four day shut down Congress would shut down all banks and reopen them once they were steady. This act was passed by Congress to help makes banks stable, it was called the Emergency Banking Relief Act.

Repercussions of the New Deal during the Great Depression Government programs always affect our country; whether or not we seek all aspects of the program determines the outcome of the situation. Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) became president March 4th, 1933, and he served as president for two terms. FDR was a fighter, he fought a battle with polio, and he also fought to get the United States out of a Great Depression. He came up with the New Deal, a series of government programs intended to help. The Great Depression started when the stock market crashed October 29th, 1929, and the economy fell tremendously, and unemployment rose.
Roosevelt created the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) which put about 3 million young men on projects such as planting trees and building levees to prevent floods. He also established the Public Works Administration (PWA), it provided jobs by building huge public work, such as roads, hospitals, and school. The Agricultural Adjustment Administration raised farm prices and controlled farm production. Roosevelt asked Congress to pass the Social Security Act created a tax paid by all employers and workers that was used to pay pensions to retired people. Another tax funded unemployment insurance which provided payments to people who lost their jobs.
Has there ever been a president as influential as Franklin Delano Roosevelt? Truly Roosevelt was a unique man that lead American through one of its hardest times.
