Fear of doing the same thing and being the same person as everyone else drove Montag to try and bring books back. Executive Order 9066 (Feb. 19, 1942) Due to World War II, President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave permission to the confinement of “tens of thousands of American citizens of Japanese ancestry and residents from Japan.” This executive order gave the military the power to “ban any citizen from a 50-60 mile wide coastal area from Washington State to California.” This order also gave the military permission to transport these citizens to centers that they ran in California, Arizona, Washington, and Oregon.

A year later, February 19, 1942 President Roosevelt signed the Executive Order 9066 which brought out the internment camps for Japanese Americans. In 1944, Korematsu spoke up for his rights as a Japanese- American citizen and he fought against the government. Fred Korematsu took a stand against the United States government for his rights by resisting arrest and placement into internment camps, and these actions resulted in a huge court case where he was accused guilty, though Korematsu lost, he should have been justified to evade the executive order.

Never being born with the privilege of money, Firdaus would not know the power of money until she makes her own. The people around her had money and had power over Firdaus. Due to the military threat by the Japanese on the West Coast, on February 19, 1942, President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, ordering for the incarceration of all people of Japanese descent. The Order forced about 120,000 Japanese Americans into relocation centers across the United States where they remained in captivity until the war ended.
Written works about American Identity are a very common theme amongst writers, including poet Dwight Okita and short-story writer Sandra Cisneros. Dwight Okita is famous for her poem “In Response to Order 9066: All Americans of Japanese Descent Must Report to Relocation Centers,” in which the theme of American identity is portrayed through a 14-year-old girl. In a similar way, Sandra Cisneros’s short story is told by a young girl of Mexican heritage who prefers American culture—in sharp contrast to her deep-rooted Mexican grandmother. The government sent out Execute Order 9066, which sent all Japanese to internment camps. The purpose of this essay is to explain why this executive order should have never gone out. First of all, it was unjustifiable. Many of the Japanese-Americans were born and raised in America.
The Japanese Internment camps were a product of discrimination. This is the same for the Concentration Camps in Europe. One would cause the deaths of millions of people. The other would cause the government to apologise to the people in the camps, and give 20,000 dollars in reparations. Thesis statement: Though many speculate that the act of dropping the atomic bomb on Japan (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) while not doing so on Europe (Germany and Italy) was racially motivated, racism played little to no role in these bombings. The United States of America and her allies were willing to end World War II at any cost, had the atomic bombs been available they would have been deployed in Europe.
