That is a scary question, surely Los Angeles is the land of opportunity for creative and business minded people alike? If this past trip to LA taught me anything, it is that there is no PASSION that cannot be made into a reality with hard work, a sharp mind, and determination! In this paper, I will describe two key features pivotal to the dynamic environment of LA: 1. Its variety of industries, 2. The creative minds that inhabit them and what surprised me about them. I will also speak about one LA startup that I believe will likely succeed in the future. The land of opportunity that LA is the reason why I love LA. I believe people go to LA in order to leave the homogeneity of their previous setting, and put themselves out of their comfort zone. What struck me as surprising, was that every person we met didn’t have a clear cut path to follow in their successful careers, but had patience and had a PASSION that moved them forward. Brian Weinstein attests in Forbes, “A career is a marathon, not a sprint.” It takes time and smart work to find success in because it simply doesn’t happen overnight – often. Men like Scott Mills, took advantage of his skills from school to leverage jobs and advance his career in a short period of time. Others like Todd Lieberman, worked tirelessly for years to create films that move people children to adults! LA is home to some of the most creative minds we know today.
