A lot of high schoolers have their best memories at parties, and high school sports events. For me, besides being with family, my best memories are at the Colorado Mills theater. Yes, it is a movie theater. Is this a special, magical theater? No, not at all, it’s just a normal movie theater. Is this a special movie theater to my friends and I? Yes, and every single one of my friends will agree with me. In my life, I have gone to more than 20 movie premieres and every single one was special. Some are the best movies I’ve ever seen, some are extremely disappointing(“Batman v. Superman”). But despite the movie, each one has a special place in my heart. Usually, my group would meet some interesting characters at the theater. We met cosplayers (those who dress up in costumes as their favorite characters), nerds of all degrees, and one time, an authentic biker gang at the WORLD premiere for the Batman animated movie: “The Killing Joke”. This particular mesa, if you hike it all the way up, can feed right into the Mills theater. From my house, it takes around an hour to get there if there's no snow. Snow will add about 30 minutes. From about the 5th grade to sophomore year, that’s how we got to the theater. Our parents offered to drive us when it was snowing, but a little snow wouldn't stop us. We hiked that mountain over twelve times, no matter the temperature. We got hurt, scratched, dehydrated, and almost bitten by rattlesnakes (several times). Which surprisingly made the movie that much better, we felt as though we earned being there. Soon, junior year came and I wasn’t the only one with my lisence.
