Last Wishes Book Report The book that I’m reading is called The Last Wishes and from the Everyday Angel series. The author of this book is Victoria Schwab and the publisher of this book is Scholastic Paperbacks. It’s copyright date is ⓒ2014 and the number of pages in total is 208. The characters in the story are Mikayla and Aria. Mikayla is a girl who has a passion for dancing,but loss it. She lives in New York and goes to private school. She is a competitive and graceful dancer who is ambitious and works hard, but now feels pressured by doing it and has to focus on nailing each step right. Her dance teacher pressures her to win a gold, not silver or bronze. She gets out on her stage and performs gracefully,but all she could hear was her dance teacher repeatedly saying gold. Aria sneaks inside the auditorium to see Mikayla dance, but she can see blue smoke around her while she dances which mean she has a deep conflict to be solved. After, the dance was over, Aria could overhear Mikayla miserable instead of the girl onstage, proud and confident,because she misses one turn in the dance. Still, she wins a gold medal,but still doesn’t feel satisfied. The next day, Aria tries to find a way to become friends with Mikayla to help her solve this conflict. Aria used magic to become one of the students in Drexton, Mikayla’s school and to go to Mikayla’s dance school, Filigree Coleridge. Mikayla and Aria starts to bond together and finds out that Mikayla’s conflict is having pressure by her parents to get into this prestigious arts school, because of her parents having financial problems and losing the passion of dance instead of having fun and getting lost into the music. Now, when she dances, she has to nail every step and doesn’t feel comfortable with the way she’s dancing. Then, all of a sudden, Mikayla sprained her ankle which helps her relieve and take off stress from dancing with help of Aria.
