Lincoln Alexander: Lincoln Alexander was a Canadian lawyer, parliamentarian and civil rights activist. Born in Toronto in 1922, he grew up in a time when Canada was still segregated. Fighting for equality, he became the first black Member of Parliament in Canada in 1968. He was a strong advocate for human rights and worked to advance the cause of equality for all races, genders and nationalities. Alexander's motivation came from his own experiences with discrimination and racism. He believed that everyone deserved the same opportunities regardless of their background. Rosemary Brown: Rosemary Brown was another prominent Canadian politician and social activist.
