Fences, portraits a family that is struggling to have everyone getting along as Troy, has a son with another woman which raises issues between him as his lover, then he tells his son's baseball coach to not allow the former to play which led to a brawl between the 2 resulting in Troy kicking his son out. The conflict within the family is not resolved until Troy accomplishes his major goal of building his fence, then he passes away, and his death didn't result in joining the family together as Cory refuses to attend his father's funeral.

Mericans portray a Mexican family in which the main protagonist, a little girl, and her brother were born in U.S.A. and they speak English but they live in Mexico with the kids grandmother which the children
