The Most Dangerous Game Setting Analysis

230 Words1 Pages
The setting in “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is necessary to the plot of the story. For example, the dangerous crags surrounding the island as well as the location of the island prevent the victims from leaving. The calm sea prevents Rainsford from getting crushed against the giant crags when he arrives on the island. General Zaroff could have been discovered easily, but the threatening boulders surrounding the island were preventing people from venturing onto the island . The location of the island makes it hard for Rainsford to survive because he’s trapped. General zaroff gets his prey as a result of “‘;giant rocks with razor edges crouch like a sea monster with wide open jaws. They crush ships ass easily as I crush this nut’”(8).
