The Mudras civilization is from the southern cost of India. They live along the cost that is now the Bay of Bengal. Fishing and farming was there stable food supply. They were merchants and traders with the island of Lanka. Cattle were a main source of food. Not the meat but the milk. The Arts of the Mudras include weapons, everyday objects, buildings, and music. They were great Craftspeople, musicians, and architects. This skill was all developed to please gods. The Mudras believe in many gods. The Mudras use tools to make wheels and arches. They created great temples. The wheel allows them to get around on carts and don’t have to drag supplies for trade. The Mudras use arches and columns to make our buildings stronger and more beautiful. The more beautiful the temples the happier the gods and the people will get good luck. They created irrigation systems and plows to control a water supply in a very hot and dry climate. Rain comes once a year for a short time. Religion is a very important characteristic of the Mudras civilization. It’s important because it dictate what to do in there daily life, preparing offerings for gods. Offerings for the gods include milk from the cows, fruits and food from the farms. They use astrology to worship. The planets were worshiped. The sun god, the earth god and moon god. They expressed there religious beliefs by building statues and temples. The government plays a major role in the life of the Mudras civilization. They had laws, taxes, building temples, maintaining irrigation systems, and controlling the water supply. This was important for keeping everything in order, and Mudras people safe.
