Many events in history have gone unanswered and one of those events was the killing of the Bordens. The book has three separate parts to it and they are all very well detailed. The Borden family consisted of Andrew, the father, Abby the stepmother to Andrew 's daughters, Lizzie and Emma, Andrews two daughters and Bridget, the house maid. They all lived together in Fall River until on August 17, 1892 when Bridget was out cleaning windows, Emma was out of town, and Lizzie was in the back yard a gruesome killing happened. Arnold R. Brown wrote this book primarily to uncover the truth about who killed the couple while either proving or disclaiming theories that have surrounded the story.
August 4th, 1892, around noon Andrew Borden was found in the parlor of his home, followed by the finding of his wife’s body in an upstairs bedroom. Who did it? Several theories have been given as the causes of this murder. Lizzie Borden, was accused of this crime, but the question is was she really the murderer? The theories have emerged which could explain the causes of Andrew and Abby Borden’s death.
The following evidence is what proves Lizzie is not guilty. First, all cases like this must include evidence to find the killer, but none was found against LIzzie to make her guilty. Also, this is one of the most fascinating stories, as it is still up in the air who completed the murder. The event is almost like a real-life move. As the storylines are very crazy and the killer is unreviled.
The first reason I believe Lizzie is guilty of the murders of Andrew and Abby Borden is because she lied about her stepmom Abby Borden receiving a note from a friend being sick on the day she and her husband were murdered. “The Crime” stated, “Andrew asked Lizzie where Abby was, and Lizzie told him Abby had received a note that someone was ill and that she had left the house.”
I believe that Lizzie Borden did kill Both Abby and Andrew Borden on the day of August 4, 1892. Some people think that Lizzie is guilty some think she is innocent. My reasons for believing this are she wanted more attention from her father. My second reason is when she testified about what happened and her whereabouts it didn't add up. My third and final reason to believe that Lizzie is guilty is she had reasons to think that her father was going to get hurt shortly before her father got killed.
“Lizzie Borden took an ax, and gave her mother forty whacks when she saw what she had done, She gave her father forty-one” the infamous song of Lizzie Borden allegedly accused of both the murders of her father and stepmother. But now come to think could she really have been innocent? There are many suspicious details leading to her being guilty but Lizzie was declared innocent. So now the suspicion begins. Despite the many information on the Lizzie Borden case, I believe Lizzie Borden should have been proven guilty.
Lizzie Borden is the main suspect of her fathers and step mothers deaths. Lizzie Borden lived with her father and step mother, Andrew and Abby Borden. When Emma and Lizzie were younger they went through two tragic lost in the family. There little sister died when she was only two years old, and there mother Sarah Borden also died. Lizzie and Emma lived with their father and step mother, they didn't really care for their step mother Abby.

Other family members could be guilty of the crime, not just Lizzie. The first possible suspect that comes to mind is John Morse, Lizzie’s uncle who, after supposedly being made aware of the horrible murders, is said to have “ambled” into the back yard and proceeded to “eat pears in the shade” (King 27). The next possible suspect would have to be Emma, who, being out of town that day was sent a telegram telling her about the murders, but she “did not catch the next train,” or the next, in fact she did not “return” home “until after seven that night” (King 27). Doesn't that seem a little odd, seeing as her father was just killed; unless she had something to do with it and couldn’t get home until then, but we will never know. Another possible suspect is Bridget Sullivan, the maid who happened to be in and around the house at the time of the murders (“The Lizzie Borden Story”).
The only one in the house at the time was Lizzie Borden. Also, they found no evidence that someone came in and just murdered mr. and mrs. Borden. Another reason why I think she committed the murder was because she was having conflict with her mother All in all, Lizzie had to have been guilty because she had the most evidence out of everybody else that was considered a suspect.
Is Lizzie Andrew Borden Guilty? I have a very simple answer, yet rather a complex answer to that. Most people in this day an age believe that she was guilty. Now, why out of everyone in the town of Fall River would you choose this poor innocent lady who supposedly loved her parents so much that she hacked her mother 18 times and her father 11. She brutally and viciously murdered her own parents in all under 2 hours.
In Lizzie Borden: Murderess or Media Sensation it states that “There was no physical evidence linking her to the murders” There was no evidence that she did the murders. They didn't question anybody but Lizzie. Anyone could have done it. This just proves that Lizzie did not do
Not much evidence was provided to believe such accusations. More of the idea of Lizzie experiencing child neglect was clearer to see through others eyes, therefore developing sociopathic behavior causing her to attack her father and stepmother. Prior to the murder of Andrew Borden and Abby Borden was an average normal day for the Bordens. The day start off with breakfast, although, Lizzie “Seldom dined with her father and stepmother,” (Douglas and Olshaker, 2000, p.98).
One man once said “Your life is the fruit of your own doing .You have no one to blame but yourself”. In the crucible Abby does not take the blame for what she has done. Although, Abby is guilty of manipulating, adultery and the use of her imagination. Abby knows how to manipulate other characters in order to get them to do what she wants. This is why in the following I will show you how Abby is not a victim of her society.
