It is often that people only consider what occurred within a war and not how it occurred. In basic history textbooks, it is explained that a certain country won a battle but not how the leaders approached the battle and where the resources came from. In James Burns’ “The Naked Truth of Battle,” the American way of making war is explained through his eye-witness account. In order to understand American warfare, Burns got a well-rounded, full picture of what it consisted of.
