Argumentative Essay Have you ever thought that something happen for a reason or was it just luck? Sometimes things happen because of luck like winning the lottery and finding treasure. Do these things really happen by luck? Maybe these people researched the most commonly drawn numbers in the lottery or they bought the proper equipment to go looking for treasure. In the story The Interlopers luck and decisions both played a large role. The two men in the story just happen to find each other when they went around that beech nut tree. The ladies husband just had enough money to get her a dress which was the exact amount he had been saving up to buy him a gun. The other reason why it shows luck in it is they found a actual diamond necklace that looked just like the fake one. They also made some bad choices in the story like when they lied to her friend and got her another necklace. The hard work for ten years paying off that necklace happen for a reason probably because they lied. “ You must write to your friend,” he said,” and tell her that you’ve broken the clasp of her necklace and are getting it mended. That will give us time to look about us.” I wrote this to show the difference between luck and choices in the stories. I think The Interlopers is more of luck because of them being by that tree at the same time and them being able to talk to each other when the tree fell on them. I think The Necklace is more of choices because they chose not to tell her friend about them losing the necklace and that came back on them by having to spend ten years working hard paying off a actual diamond necklace. I think in real life choices happen more often than luck because your choices will kindof determine who you are and where you go in
