According to Health Watchdog Nice, about 40,000 deaths a year have been recorded due to junk food. It is fascinating to know how crisp, fries, pizza, fried chicken that we consume almost every day could lead us to death even though we know that junk food is a type of food that is quick and easy to prepare and consume, but it can be bad for your health. Junk food is synonymous with fast food such as all those burgers, French fries, pizza, fried chickens and also those with battered, coated with sugars and high amount of salts or have sauces. So junk food is typically low in nutrients and high in calories from high amounts of this ingredient such as sugars, starches or fats. The obvious effect you can see is your body shape. Junk food fanatics are prone to gain weight, especially when consume this kind of food regularly. Based on statistics, normally when people eating junk food they tend to accompany it with carbonated drinks or alcohol, which contained lots of sugar or empty calories or both that may cause that person’s tendency to gain weight rapidly leading to overweight and obesity. It is undeniable that junk food does tastes good, but unfortunately it does not make you full and it has high calorie. Based on Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), from 6 to 30 onwards are the average ages who are obese. Normally people think that youngsters who eat junk food would be fine because they are still young and able to lose weight later, but most of the obese people are from the group of adolescence. This is because of their parents’ lifestyle that influence kids to follow. For example, parents who are working couples may have no time to prepare their children food after went back from work.
