Kidwatching is an interesting and helpful strategy for me to understand my focus students’ literacy behavior. This observation strategy is an ideal way for me to get to know my students’ literacy tendencies and interests. There are many students who do not feel comfortable with their reading and writing skills, which causes the students to lack interest in all literature. After watching and interviewing my focus students, I learned that not all students like to read and write. Additionally, I learned that I must always be flexible in the classroom because things may not go as planned and I may have to quickly adjust.
Lauren Hale, professor in the department of family, population, and preventative health at Stony Brook University, collaborated with her team at Stony Brook University to study the effects of screen time in children. This study focused on exploring the differences between passive and interactive screen time. However, the study showed no significant differences between the effects of interactive versus passive screen time. Thus, the article concludes that all forms of screen time should be limited. This article will be helpful in supporting the thesis, because it denies one of the common fallacies that screen time can be categorized into positive and negative types of screen time, arguing instead that all forms of screen time should be limited and treated with caution.
During the beginning of modern Europe, there were conflicting views on the proper way to view children. Previously in history, the infant mortality rate was very high, so kids were treated more like adults and were often neglected because odds were they would die. There was a resounding view that kids should be treated harshly in order to become strong. Then in the seventeenth century, the idea of being tender and gentle to your kids was introduced. The way in children were brought up was influenced by assumptions made on both old and new schools of thought.

This caused them to get addicted to the nursery.
Have you ever played tackle football? If so you should know that playing at a young age can cause damage to brain as you get older and older. Kids that started before the age of twelve have been proven to have a damaged brain as they get older. Kids of such young age should be able to play football but maybe flag football is better to start with. For parents to keep their children safe they should not let their kids play tackle football until they are twelve.

As a person who has grown up watching tv, playing video games, and also enjoying the outdoors i can understand both sides of this arguement. However, i agree more with the second passage in the sense that screen time isnt the main cause of the issues these people have. Now-a-days everyone is linked into some type of technology whether it be a smartphone, laptop, or videogame. In addition, as a person who excels better with a visual or physical example rather than reading text from a book, I see technology as a way to better learn new things. Screen time isn't the issue, I feel it's more how you choose to use it.

Children nowadays are forming “electronic friendships” instead of human friendships thus preventing the development of interpersonal skills. Teachers should make children work in groups or pair when they are using computers in the classroom. Teachers also can provide activities that require children to interact with peers.
