The TV series, The Dukes of Hazzard, was inspired by the 1975 movie Moonrunner . The series and the movie were written by Gy Waldron about the life of Jerry Rushing. Jerry Rushing was an actual moonshiner who started delivering moonshine with his brother at the age of twelve. The TV series used some of the same character names and the same storyline as the movie. The show was narrated by Waylon Jennings, a famous country singer, and he also wrote and sang the show's theme song, "The Good Ole Boys.
I think a hero is someone who saves someones life without thinking about themselves. Also, I think it means being a role model. Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally do fit the definition. For example, in the story it states "I'll get them, don't worry! " I started at a dead run for the church.

In this paper I will be discussing how Boys and Girls Clubs are used as a deterrence method to keep “at-risk” children off the streets. These programs are all across the country in inner cities and in rural areas. I will be using the Boys and Girls Club to look at its relationship with Social Disorganization theory. The Boys and Girls Club has been around since 1860, when three women decided to open their doors to underprivileged boys. In “The Boys Are Not All Right” by Michael Ian Black, the author uses different powers of persuasion to convince the audience to succumb to his opinion that men today don’t know how to properly express their feelings because of cultural norms that expressing your feelings is associated with weakness and femininity. He starts the article by drawing on the fact that almost all mass shootings have been committed by men. He says that men tend to lash out in anger because they don’t know how to properly express their feelings. He attempts to persuade his reader to start a conversation on how to make it more acceptable in society for men to express their emotions in a way that doesn’t potentially hurt others.
In the short story, the plot events are an exploration of the title “The Stone Boy” written by Gina Berriault where it shows how the characters dealt with their emotions, specifically Arnold, who is known as the “stone boy”. Arnold is a nine-year-old boy and the youngest of his other two siblings, Nora and Eugie. Throughout the story, Arnold felt inferior towards Eugie, yet simultaneously admiring him as his role model. Then, one unexpected morning an abominable accident occurred. The event occurred when Arnold and Eugie decided to pick peas.
In the novel, All American Boys, the authors Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely, tell a story of police brutality though the eyes of the victim, African American teenager, Rashad Butler, and the classmate who saw the tragedy unfold Quinn Collins. The novel serves through the eyes as a realistic interpretation of the injustices that are happening today ranging from radical inequalities, to police brutality, which have been on display via various social media outlets. ‘Daddy’s little girls’ is a touching movie. The movie incites sadness in its viewers, the anguish felt by the protagonist and his children is one that many can identify with and understand. The central character Monty was an ambitious young man who grew up in an inner city community, he had three beautiful girls with is former partner, Jennifer. Monty’s daughters remained his priority throughout the movie and he fought tirelessly for the benefit of his children. Monty had to endure the selfishness of Jennifer, her poor parenting skills and her bad ill sense of judgement.
Many critics agree on one fact about Canadian author Alice Munro: one of her most notable qualities in regards to her work is the distinct use of realism in her writing. Her writing provides a strong sense of familiarity to the reader, while also containing stronger metaphorical meanings that one can note when they begin to closely look at her work. Her short story “Boys and Girls” portrays the socialization of a young girl, once very close to her father and unaware of any sort of gender bias within her society, into a young woman with a pessimistic view of femininity and her expected position in society. This story shows the socialization process in a way that makes it easy to recognize, illustrating circumstances that the reader can notice the blatant sexism and misogyny; however, its portrayal is extremely realistic, allowing the reader to recall how oblivious they may have been in the past during times that they have been impacted by social biases in our world. Critics of Munro typically agree on her overall theme of femininity and coming of age in her writings; “Boys and Girls” emphasizes the ways in which young girls are socialized into a seemingly natural understanding of the sexist expectations and gender roles.
When the boys change to stereotypes they are more likely to be more prone to substance abuse and suicide, having shorter life expectancy, and also engaging in more physical violence than girls. This simple short story is about a young girl’s resistance to womanhood in a society infested with gender roles and stereotypes but have to accept the gender stereotyping in the end of the story.
